I think it was an attempt of 'humor' on her side. She must've been tired of questions like 'is Snape a vampire', so she had him *bitten in the neck* and die.

Did I tell you that I loathe her sense of humor as much as I loathe her ethics and her ideas about love, nobility, virtue and oh, just about anything?
