I honestly need to get my facts straight and talk to a science teacher or something before I can properly talk about my theory, but...

For one world dealing with magic I basically came up with the theory that the gene for magic is recessive. So if two people with magic have children the chances of that child having magic are far greater than they would be for the child of two people without magic.

But I haven't had any science classes in ages and have probably just said something incredibly stupid.

I also continued, theorizing that the gene really just makes the body more receptive to magic, drawing the souls of shamans to be born in that body. Sheesh. I made my back-story genetics which I haven't researched properly compatible with the religious beliefs of that society...

Now I'm really worried that my science here makes no sense. Ah well. At least I want to check it before I put it in the book, right? Right?
