Sorry, I deleted my comment out of a fit of paranoia I had the wrong chapter. I didn't realise you'd replied, so here we go:
I saw this chapter as fairly clearly dropping hints for the reader that Snape was acting in his capacity as Angel of the Light by being unexpectedly lenient towards the Hogwarts' student body. Harry gets so far as a smug thought about Snape sending Ginny off to the Forbidden Forest, but no further. I was disappointed not to see the TrioDuo ask themselves what was up with that. It could have been the excuse to return to Hogwarts under cover that this book so badly needed. However, in practice have turned into a dull round of:
"As you remember Harry, Snape killed Dumbledore last year."
"Yes, hrm, that is definitely a point on the evil side of the ledger... what have we got now... 302 evil to 1.5 good. What do you think this means, Hermione?"
"As you remember Harry..."
Perhaps it's best for all concerned that this is one of the few hints that was left dangling for the readers.
