[identity profile] gehayi.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] deadlyhollow
Just making a post to save the comm and all its incredibly detailed sporkings. I'd hate to have the comm annihilated for inactivity, and LJ is going to start deleting inactivate accounts soon.

Also, communities are considered inactive if they have only one new post with no comments. So please...comment on this post to let LJ know we're still here.

ETA: I've already said this in a couple of comments, but I'm adding it to the original post. LJ edited their announcement. This is what they initially said:

A journal is defined as inactive if it has not been logged into for 24 consecutive months and has only one post (i.e., the welcome post). A community is defined as inactive if has not been updated for 24 consecutive months.

Now it reads:

A journal is defined as inactive if it has not been logged into for 24 consecutive months and has only one post (i.e., the welcome post). A community is defined as inactive if has not been updated for 24 consecutive months and has only one entry and no comments.

The bolded clause wasn't there when I saw their first announcement. I'm guessing there were objections.

Any site that rips Deathly Hallows to shreds should continue. I've found a lot of happiness in the commentary over the past three years from others who have shared the disappointment in how it all ended. I'd hate to see any such community close.

Oh we're definitely still here. Especially with the first movie coming out soon.

Do you suppose they'll include the whole camping trip from hell? I can't imagine it's any less boring on the big screen. Actually, I have a fair amount of morbid curiosity about the movie. There's so much that can only look as bad (or worse) in a movie.

Maybe they'll fix some of the other glaring problems with the book. Of course, if they fix all the problems, it will barely resemble the book at all.

Still here, still watching.

God damn, when did LJ decide that? I'll lose all my comms! :( :(

It's only communities that have one post at all. As in, one post other than the 'welcome post' thing. Anything with any content at all is safe.

Oh yes please keep Deadly alive it was the only thing that kept me sane in the face of such utterly laughable tragedy as Deathly H.

I also will never understand why she thought the book was acceptable. My guess is exactly opposite from yours. I think out of time restraints she agreed to over editing by Cheryl Klein who even ended up doing a great deal of re-writing. I don't think Klein thought the book as written and planned by JKR would have been accepted by the 12-14 yr old reader. Up to Deathly Hallows I always thought she was writing for readers who aged 1 yr. per book. SS/PS 12yrs.,COS 13yrs.,POA 14yrs.,GOF 15yrs.,OOTP 16yr.,HBP 17yrs. I therefore thought DH was going to be written for 18year olds. Instead it was nothing but Juvenile trash. I wonder if the origninal unedited manuscript of JKR's books will ever be released. I really do want to know who to blame for this piece of crap.

All of the eager fans who pre-purchased the book? Making it a commercial success no matter what Rowling wrote? :-(
